About the Awards

The Lesotho Music Awards (LMAs) celebrate and uplift the country's musical talents across various genres. Founded in 2021, the awards aim to give back to the industry and empower Basotho artists to pursue their craft amidst challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic. The awards have evolved into a prestigious platform, highlighting artists' achievements and fostering growth within the local music scene.

The LMAs feature categories such as Artist of the year, Best Male, Best Female, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Song of the Year. This annual event is crucial in building artists brands and as well as celebrate their efforts in the music industry. The awards are meant to inspire local musicians and provide recognition for their hard work and creativity. The selection process involves a quality-control stage, ensuring that only the best talent moves forward as nominees, with the public then voting to determine the winners

This year's ceremony, scheduled for October 25, 2025, promises to build on the success of previous editions with improved organization and a broader scope for participation. By focusing on quality music production and incorporating public voting systems, the LMAs are setting a new standard for music recognition in Lesotho
